DEBARY SHOWED UP FOR DISTRICT 5.

Last night at the Forum in DeBary, the residents of Volusia County District 5 finally had the opportunity to hear directly from both candidates — unfiltered, unscripted, and on the record.

I am grateful to every person who came out, asked questions, and made their voice heard. That is exactly what democracy looks like.

I came to this forum with one goal: to tell you the truth. About where I stand. About the record of the last four years. About what our families deserve from the person sitting in that seat.

I spoke about your water. Your roads. Your tax bills. The development pressure on your neighborhoods.

The special assessments that don’t disappear — they just change names.

I spoke about the residents who feel shut out. The seniors who can’t afford to stay in homes they’ve owned for decades.

The families in DeBary’s and all over Volusia County mobile home parks being squeezed by corporate investors.

The blue collar workers who built these communities and deserve to stay in them.

And I spoke about what showing up really means — not just when the cameras are on, but at the budget meetings, the community gatherings, and yes, even the city commission meetings where decisions get made that affect your daily life.
