Good morning, friends!

Good morning, friends!
This week, the Florida Legislature is in special session to finalize our state budget,
The future of Florida Forever — one of our state’s most important conservation programs — is hanging in the balance.
My name is J David Sosa, and as a former Volusia County Forever board member, this program is very near and dear to my heart.
I’ve seen firsthand the incredible work it does protecting the lands we all love
Unfortunately, the current proposals are deeply concerning. The House is only offering $25 million,
while the Senate is proposing $75 million
— but with major restrictions that would limit funding to only private land easements and block new public lands that Florida families can actually access and enjoy.
For more than 25 years, Florida Forever has conserved lands that protect wildlife habitat, safeguard our drinking water, provide outdoor recreation, and preserve our natural heritage for future generations.
We cannot let this vital program be weakened.
I’m asking you to please take just a moment today and contact budget committee leaders:
Senator Ed Hooper and Representative Lawrence McClure.
Urge them to fully protect and properly fund Florida Forever with strong, dedicated dollars for new public conservation lands.
Our kids and grandkids are counting on us to get this right.
Thank you,
J David Sosa
